What Would Jesus Do?

So here I was, driving on this busy road thinking about whom I should give the $2  that someone had  just given me to give the homeless. While negotiating the corner of the road leading home I saw a woman lying on the sidewalk with several bundles.  "Aha," I thought." Let me drive home, collect some bottles of water , food and fruits and the bag of coins I had put away". That I did. On my way to the woman, I met my brother whom I stopped to share my intention. He smiled at me and said, "Do you know whom the lady is?" Before answering him he said, "She is the woman who stole your goods a few months ago."
When I heard those words from the lips of my brother, anger whelmed up within me. I felt to return home with the goods but the love and compassion I had for the poor was stronger than my anger. I smiled and quickly went to her. I asked her if she wanted some water but she replied no. I asked her if she wanted food but she also said no. I then took a bottle of water out of the bag. When she saw the bottle of water she took it from me. Not only did she take the bottles of water but also the bread, fruits, bag of coins and the $2 .
She smiled at me and said, "Thank you, thank you." I replied, "Jesus loves and cares for you."
The power of love and compassion are  greater than the power of  anger and unforgiveness.

365 Golden Apples

The words you speak to yourself or the words others speak to you can have a positive or negative impact on your life. Speaking the word of God that is relevant to your situation can change your situation and make it positive. Jesus said, " The words I speak are spirit and they have life." In Proverbs we read. A word fitly spoken are like golden apples on a silver plate.

There's a Reason For it All

There's a reason for it all.
If you are a child of God, all things are working together for your good. Don't worry. Be happy.
 Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Love Your Enemies

Luke 6:27-35

Love Your Enemies

27 “But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. 29 To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic[a] either. 30 Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back. 31 And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.
32 “If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. 33 And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. 34 And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount. 35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.

Fear Not

Isaiah 41:10-15

10 So do not fear, for I am with you;
    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
11 “All who rage against you
    will surely be ashamed and disgraced;
those who oppose you
    will be as nothing and perish.
12 Though you search for your enemies,
    you will not find them.
Those who wage war against you
    will be as nothing at all.
13 For I am the Lord your God
    who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear;
    I will help you.
14 Do not be afraid, you worm Jacob,
    little Israel, do not fear,
for I myself will help you,” declares the Lord,
    your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
15 “See, I will make you into a threshing sledge,
    new and sharp, with many teeth.
You will thresh the mountains and crush them,
    and reduce the hills to chaff.

Let Nothing Steal your Joy!

Don't let anyone or anything steal your joy. Right now take your situations to the Lord in prayer. Rejoice! And again I say rejoice! Send love and forgiveness to your enemies.
